Simone Biles

Simone Biles won her 20th gold medal at the World Championships, as Team USA captured its seventh successive world title on the night of October 4 in Antwerp, Belgium. Simone Biles is by far the most acclaimed gymnast to ever compete with 33 medals won in world competitions and at the Olympics. Biles was able to perform a vault so difficult that it was the first a woman ever did on an international scale. It was formerly known as Biles' Yurchenko double pike vault the vault has been changed to the Biles II. The world record-setting gymnast performing in her very debut international meet from 2021 is competing in the individual all-around finals on Oct. 6. In 1997, in Columbus Ohio Simone was taken from the house of her mother's birth father who had a history of addiction, and was placed in foster care together with her siblings. Their maternal grandfather Air Force veteran Ron and his wife who retired as a nurse Nellie came in to take care of the children who were officially adopted by Simone at 6 years old along with her baby sister Adria. Simone and her elder siblings were taken in by their maternal aunt.
